Merilyn Keskula
Interview With Merilyn About Sugaring
How did you get into sugaring? What did you hear about it before? Why did you decide to go sweet?
I love natural way of living, so am always up for trying anything that is better for my health and environment. I only found out about sugaring when I moved to Zurich. It’s quite bizarre as I was living in London which should be in the forefront of innovational therapies, but had never come across sugaring there, or anywhere else where I travelled before.
In addition to the preference of natural skincare, I’m also quite lazy and easy-going when it comes to grooming - having to shave every few days seems like too much of the hassle ;)
How was your first sugaring?
I am quite used to waxing and in terms of any pain it was pretty much the same, however I came to understand that good technique when sugaring really matters - as I’ve gone to different people, there are super experienced therapists, like Marianne, who are amazing and I can hardly feel a thing. As with some others I was too scared to go back second time ;)
Sugaring is definitely much more gentle to the skin than anything else, and it’s easy to get rid of any residue.
Which body part do you prefer to get sugared and why?
I used to only get the Brazilian for years, but recently also got my legs and underarms sugared.
How does it feel to be sugared?
Again, depends from a therapist. With Marianne it’s more like a nice break with a good friend :)
Also, depends where I am in my cycle and I try to avoid sugaring very near to my period.
What are you passioned about? What kind of business do you run? Who are you? What is important for you in 2019?
I am passionate about feminine leadership, female entrepreneurship, cyclical living and the moon. Also, I love exploring new countries and truly connecting with people.
I birthed Mylky Moon Lab few years ago, which offers mentoring and workshops to women and men who desire to live and create in a more aligned way - using tools like menstrual cycle alignment and moon mapping. My book about the energy of the moon will be published in 2020!
I also run a digital marketing consultancy Keskula Digital, where I support individuals, like coaches and therapists, and brands with reaching their audience through clear social media strategy and inspiring and authentic content creation.
Apart from that, I live in London with my husband and dog Lune :)
